North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church -Spring 2018 Intern Scope of Work

The North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church seeks a nonprofit communications intern to work with their online communications team. The intern will report directly to CCPA adjunct professor, Matt Jacobs. The intern will also collaborate with members of the NTCUMC communications team.

Key Interests: Strategic communications; online engagement; audience conversion; content management; copy creation

The NTCUMC intern will assist in completing the following strategic objectives:

  • Developing online, social media marketing plans for faith-centric nonprofit
  • Creating conversion strategies for constituent following, retention and engagement
  • Management of online content calendars for social media spaces
  • Copy creation that aligns with organizational branding and communications goals
  • Specialized conference communications planning for communications team

Intern Learning Objectives:

  • Building online strategies from established audience profiles for North Texas area
  • Deeper understanding of conversion strategies that brings virtual consumers to local churches
  • Editing and maintaining content calendars for multiple social sites through the NTCUMC voice and audience interests
  • Writing and editing content in the brand’s voice
  • Unique insight into conference communications planning (opportunity for intern to help facilitate conference communications during 2018 Annual Conference if available)
