Brunswick Group is looking for an Account Director to join our team in Dallas. This person would be responsible for delivering media and market analysis, insight, and client-specific communications advice. The Account Director will work with junior colleagues to manage client teams and deliverables while also liaising with Partners and senior colleagues to ensure those teams exceed client expectations. A deep commitment to client service, along with a drive to nurture a network of peers inside and outside the firm, are critical for success as an Account Director.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Client Contribution and Handling

  • Develops a strong working relationship with the client and earns their trust
  • Produces high-quality account essentials that are client-ready and prepared with flawless attention to detail
  • Writes press releases, Q&As and key message documents
  • Manages upward and downward to ensure the team is fully informed and prepared for client work
  • Manages daily deliverables and longer-term projects and ensures materials are delivered on time and in-line with our very high standards
  • Thinks on a strategic and tactical level about client issues and account development
  • Actively feeds through market intelligence to the client
  • Proactively contributes to the development of the account in terms of ideas, direction and content

Teamwork and Collaboration with the Brunswick Community

  • Acts as the “eyes and the ears” of client teams, always aware of and managing on-time delivery of team work streams, movements and deadlines
  • Shares ideas, knowledge and recommendations with teams and colleagues
  • Draws insights and opportunities from her/his networks
  • Contributes to brainstorms and new business development initiatives (e.g. research and analysis, meetings, action items, monitoring and distributing sector news)
  • Actively seeks out new business opportunities with existing clients and with potential new clients

Communication and Engagement with Media and Other Audiences

  • Develops a deep understanding of the client’s media universe and the key contacts within it
  • Actively seeks to establish a network of journalists and other stakeholder relationships within the cultural and corporate sectors relevant to clients
  • Manages media issues, such as correcting the record or providing on-background information, with ease
  • Stays well-informed on all relevant sector/client newswires and key media; proactively monitors and shares coverage
  • Provides input into media strategy to identify new angles or strategies to tell a client’s story to a range of different media

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience; corporate communications or agency experience a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of, and interest in, business and finance
  • Knowledge of the U.S. media landscape
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Factiva, Bloomberg and FactSet
  • Ability to problem solve and think strategically and creatively
  • Attention to detail while working on short deadlines
  • Discretion with confidential client matters
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Teamwork-oriented work ethic
  • International work experience a plus
