Position Overview:

The Coordinator, Corporate Communications & Public Relations for NMG is a temporary position that supports the team through the execution of strategic public relations programs that support overarching corporate, brand and merchant driven programming. The Coordinator reports to the Director and partners with the larger Corporate Communications & Public Relations team to support the execution of strategic communications strategies and projects.
The Coordinator must have excellent communication skills, demonstrate continued creativity, and understand the critical importance of attending to the smallest of details. This position should be filled by a self-starter with meticulous organization, time management, and creative skills.
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, such as supporting the Director, Managers, and Specialists in the management of key communications and public relations programs, coordinating store-level press material approvals, drafting and reviewing corporate and brand press releases, contributing content and supporting the management of the company’s press center, partnering with Internal Communications to synchronize messaging and programming, and supporting and inducting new store PR Managers with our Corporate Communications and Public Relations protocols and SOPs.
Additional key priorities are listed below:
  • Drafts various press materials including briefing books, corporate key messages, corporate leadership speeches, presentations, press releases, media alerts, etc.
  • Works with Managers and PR Agency to refine daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports
  • Helps monitor incoming press inboxes and manages reactive press inquiries, including information and image requests, and maintains internal database of media contacts
  • Partners with and coordinates across internal communications departments to ensure content messaging consistency and timely delivery
The ability to work efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external partners is a key priority in this position. The Coordinator must have a keen passion and interest in corporate communications and an appreciation for the philanthropic legacy of NMG.
Must be able to work 20 – 30 hours per week and may include some weekends and evenings.
  • Has or is working toward a BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related major
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, extremely dynamic environment, and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills and professional phone presence
  • AP Style proficient
  • Agile multitasker with a positive attitude
  • Strong PC, technology, and social media skills
  • Is organized, displays a customer focus, and meets deadlines
  • Passion for the Fashion and PR industries
  • Candidate should be enthusiastic, articulate, poised, and professional
  • Must have own transportation
  • Previous internship or work experience including a mix of agency and corporate public relations experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of media relations monitoring and management platforms (Cision, TrendKite, BurrellesLuce, etc.)
