Job Description

The Master of Arts in Design and Innovation (MADI) is looking for a highly qualified, upper-level Journalism student worker with great journalism skills and abilities to join our team to help capture and tell the story of the MADI program, students, and projects. Most work created through this position will be used to populate MADI’s website, blog, and social media. We are looking for someone who can jump into our current project load, and write engaging copy that reflects the MADI voice.

Qualifications

Applicants must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite, general social media channels, and any other journalism software(s). Working knowledge of Photoshop or photo editing software is a plus. Selected applicants will be responsible for bringing fun and exciting ideas and content to help expand our marketing and online presence! Applicants must be comfortable with interviewing current students, alumni, instructors, and industry partners. 

Requirements

Must be a SMU junior or senior undergraduate student in majors such as Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Journalism, or Marketing and have relevant marketing, journalism, and social media experience.

Compensation

This job is paid $15/hour and is not available for course credit. Applicants should expect 10 hours of work weekly.
