JOB SUMMARY:

The Public Relations Manager helps ensure the long-term success of our clients as we create integrated communications solutions to help share their stories and grow their business.  As an integral member of our client consulting team, this position is responsible for consulting on, developing, and executing public relations strategies in support of campaigns, events, and business/product launches, as well as routine media outreach and response. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, both writing and pitching stories, combined with a thirst for learning and a passion for work.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and lead public relations strategy for clients, integrating with social media content development, web design, and events as appropriate
  • Design, create, and manage day-to-day deliverables including press releases, op-eds, letters to the editor, and blog posts
  • Interface regularly with appropriate media contacts, pitching stories and following up to ensure media placement
  • Coordinate interviews and contacts between key client stakeholders and media
  • Monitor and respond real-time to media inquiries and market opportunities on behalf of clients, consistent with PR strategies and in support of business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client and media relationships
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of PR deliverables and media placements according to customer needs and objectives
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly PR initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, forecasting and tracking key account metrics
  • Assist with high severity requests or issue escalations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 – 4 years of public relations experience
  • Strong writing skills with portfolio of press releases, op-eds, blogs, social media and web content
  • Demonstrated success in pitching stories and media placement
  • Understanding of integrated marketing including overall strategy, key messaging, public relations, social media, digital marketing, and events
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
  • Aptness to work with the internal team to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail and meeting internal and client deadlines
  • Ability to combine creativity with action to produce consistent results
  • Agency experience a plus
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
