The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is seeking P.R. support from an experienced PR professional in the DFW or Austin area.

The university, which was founded in 1979 in St. Augustine, Florida, is a for-profit, private university offering graduate-level programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, and health care administration. The university has 5 locations (St. Augustine, Miami, Austin, Dallas and San Marcos, California), and the scope of work for this project will be to support the Texas campuses (Dallas and Austin) by working with Joe Cockrell, the Executive Director of Communications and Media Relations. He is based in California, so most of the communication will be virtual, with occasional on-campus meetings. Requesting proposals by November 14.

The desired one-year contract will encompass:

  • Proactive media relations to garner earned media placements in Texas (Dallas and Austin) in support of the university’s reputation-building plan
  • On-site media relations for any broadcast news coverage
  • Story mining sessions with faculty and staff at the Miami and St. Augustine campuses (2-3 per year)
  • Conducting interviews to draft feature articles/blogs about students, faculty, and staff
  • A weekly 30-minute status update call
  • Assist with crisis communication if needed
