PRSSA SUNY Oswego’s “Me, You, Us”

This Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 pm, PRSSA is hosting Bruce Maguire, President and CEO of Freeman Public Relations, Inc. All students and professionals are welcome to attend the virtual event.

The event is called “Me, You, Us,” and Maguire will be speaking about how he got to where he is today, what agencies look for in hiring new graduates, and how the industry is evolving.

About Bruce Maguire

Bruce oversees Freeman‘s operations and all client relations. He joined Freeman PR in 1980, became a partner in 1986, and CEO in 1995.

Under Bruce’s leadership, Freeman PR developed into a key marketing and communications partner in numerous consumer products industries. The agency has particular strengths in youth markets, toys, food, electronics, and licensing.

Bruce has overseen programs that have garnered numerous awards from Bulldog Reporter and 2006 PR Week and PRSA Awards for Best Consumer Launch of the Year. Bruce is proud of the agency’s role in dozens of its clients’ awards. But he is most proud of the more than 100 careers that have been launched at Freeman PR; as the agency’s alumni have filled senior-level positions at dozens of PR agencies across the country.

Bruce is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University and became the 2008 Outstanding Public Relations and Journalism Alumnus. As an undergraduate, he served as Sports Information Director for two years and interned with Burson-Marsteller, the world’s largest PR agency at the time.

PRSSA and the SMU community are so excited to have the privilege of hearing some of his knowledge of the industry.
