It’s Not Too Late To Join PRSSA

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has a chapter at SMU and we want you to join! Not only will this organization look great on your resumé, but it will open doors for you that can lead to your next internship, job, or mentor. If you missed the deadline to apply during the Fall semester, now is your chance to join.

What is PRSSA?

Public Relations Student Society of America is an international, pre-professional organization for students interested in public relations and communications. There are more than 300 chapters and more than 10,000 members and advisers.

PRSSA can help you gain the experience and practical knowledge employers are seeking. We offer internship listings, competitions, scholarships, awards, and leadership opportunities. PRSSA can connect you to a network of peers and professionals who will become lifelong friends and mentors.

To learn more about PRSSA on the national level, visit the PRSSA national website.

What do I do as a member?

SMU’s chapter hosts up to four evening meetings per month. Students interact with professional panels, talk with local companies, and practice networking skills. Each member has access to discounted tickets for Dallas PRSA events, where professionals hear speakers, network, and announce job openings across the DFW region.

How Do I Join?

To join this organization, students must pay an annual flat fee of $50, which gives them access to meetings, networking opportunities, a public relations and communications job portal, and discounted tickets to PRSA events. If students graduate as a member of PRSSA, they will have the opportunity to join PRSA at a significantly reduced price. To apply, learn more about SMU’s chapter, and meet the executive board, visit the SMU PRSSA website.
