The University has launched two new digital tools to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

Daily COVID-19 Symptom Checker

This tool allows students and faculty to take a quick daily survey which will help determine if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. One’s results will yield a green check, indicating they are clear to attend class or work, or a red check, which indicates they are not. After completing the survey, a symptom checker will provide guidance on the next steps should one receive a red check. Students and faculty should receive daily emails with the survey or can go to smu.edu/covidcheck.

PathCheck

This mobile app records your previous locations in case the information is needed for contact tracing should one test positive for COVID-19. This app was chosen because it includes a privacy-first design and only stores personal data for 14 days. The information remains private unless one chooses to share the information.
